Use finance calculators with Claude Desktop

Deterministic finance math, so your agent stops estimating loan payments in its head. Connect Claude Desktop to the WingMan MCP gateway once and these tools are available in every conversation.

1. Connect Claude Desktop

Open Settings, then Developer, then Edit Config, and add this to claude_desktop_config.json. Restart Claude Desktop. Claude Desktop's config file runs local commands, so the remote server is reached through the mcp-remote bridge (needs Node.js).

2. The tools you get

Names and descriptions come straight from the live tool registry.

• mortgageMonthly principal+interest, PMI, taxes, insurance and full amortization for a home loan.
• loanMonthly payment, total paid and total interest for an amortizing loan.
• compound_interestFuture value, total contributions and interest with optional periodic deposits.
• roiReturn on investment, gain and (with a holding period) annualized ROI.
• amortization_scheduleFull month-by-month amortization table with principal, interest, and balance columns.

These tools sit outside the default tool list, so the config above sets X-Wingman-Tools: full to load the whole catalogue. Without it, your agent can still reach them with discover_tools, then get_tool_schema, then tools/call.

3. Ask for it

Give Claude Desktop a task that needs it, for example “use mortgage from wingman”. The tool call goes to https://wingmanprotocol.com/mcp and the result comes back into the conversation.
