Goal: pause non-essential spending for 30 days, notice your patterns, and redirect the money you would have spent toward a specific goal.

Rules guide

  • Allowed: essential groceries, rent, utilities, insurance, transportation to work, medicine, debt payments.
  • Not allowed: takeout, impulse buys, non-planned shopping, convenience purchases, boredom spending.
  • Decide in advance whether pre-budgeted gifts or social events count as exceptions.
  • Write exceptions once, before day 1, so you do not move the goalposts later.

Success criteria

  • Check off each no-spend day.
  • Estimate money avoided or saved.
  • Write one sentence about what was hard or easy.
  • Review every 7 days for momentum.
